Today we went to Newcastle: the Museum of the north – Hancock; Simply Greek restaurant; travelling on the Metro and visiting the Laing Art Gallery. The children thoroughly enjoyed all of the new and not-so-new experiences developing skills needed for any adventurer: tasting new cuisine, discovering and handling artefacts and using the local mode of transport. A very enjoyable day.
Lots of celebrations today as we marked World Book Day with maths and English activities and came together as a school to share our favourite books.
Class Three have been beavering away over the last few weeks:
– studying The Odyssey;
– being very active and taking part in Tri Golf, swimming and cross country competitions;
– analysing data in maths, and
– creating detailed sketches of everyday objects.
Plus lots more…
Feel free to pop in and look at some of the work we’ve been doing.
Today we took 15 swimmers from Class 2 and 3 to Penrith Leisure Centre. The team put in a fantastic effort, with many firsts in their heats. But what made us proud was the amazing sportsmanship that they showed to other schools, as well as their own. We stayed till the very end making sure everyone was cheered on. We definitely deserve a 1St for our support! 😊
Happy New Year
Although it’s only been a two day week, C3 have had a busy start to 2017 – mapping, free writing and getting to grips with Tri Golf.
Today saw our super singers spread the Christmas joy far and wide around our local area. We sang at Morrisons, the Diocesean Office, Lazonby Co-op, Bells of Lazonby, Hather’s Financial Services and Eden Court.
Our children were great ambassadors and we received lots of lovely comments from the public 🎶
